Study Program Doctorate
In response to development challenges and to anticipate the impact of nutrition-related problems on the quality of human resources, competent professionals are required who are capable of addressing nutrition issues through continuous innovation and in alignment with advancements in science and technology.
Since 1994, IPB has developed the first Doctoral (Ph.D.) Program in Nutrition in Indonesia under the name Doctoral Program in Community Nutrition and Family Resources (GMK), strengthened by Rector’s Decree No. 031/K13/PP/2002. Following internal restructuring at IPB in 2007, the program was refined into the Doctoral Program in Human Nutrition (GMA) based on Rector’s Decree No. 027/K13/PP/2007, administered by the Department of Community Nutrition, Faculty of Human Ecology.
In 2014, the program was renamed the Doctoral Program in Nutrition Science in accordance with Rector’s Decree No. 177/IT3/DT/2014. Subsequently, in 2026, based on Rector’s Decree No. 34, the management of the Doctoral Program in Nutrition Science was transferred from the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) to the Faculty of Medicine and Nutrition (FKGiz).
To become a leading higher education institution in the field of nutrition at the global level, with a focus on nutrition across the life course through intra-, multi-, and transdisciplinary approaches to support sustainable community nutrition development in Indonesia.
Mission1. To deliver a high-quality Doctoral education program in cutting-edge nutrition science at the global level.
2. To develop ecology-based science, technology, and arts (IPTEKS) through advanced research in nutrition, with a focus on nutrition across the life course using intra-, multi-, and transdisciplinary approaches.
3. To apply and utilize science, technology, and arts in the field of nutrition to achieve sustainable improvements in healthy, intelligent, and productive quality of life.
4. To develop collaborations with various stakeholders, including academics, government, business sectors, mass media, and civil society, to support the successful implementation of the Tridharma of higher education.
