Study Program Doctorate
The Primatology Doctoral Study Program was formed in 2000 as an effort to meet the needs of primatologists to a higher level than the equivalent master's degree already owned by the Primatology Study Program (PS PRM). Based on IPB Chancellor's Decree No. 130/K13.12.1/PP/2001, PRM Study Program is determined as a multidisciplinary study program and is based on the Postgraduate School of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (SPs IPB). Even though the PRM Study Program is a multidisciplinary program with teaching staff from various faculties/departments that are in line with the three scientific pillars it promotes, it has a simple and coordinative organizational structure. Therefore, the vision, mission, goals and strategies of the PRM Study Program in general refer to the vision, mission, goals and strategies of the SPs IPB. In carrying out its academic activities, the PRM Study Program is based on three scientific pillars, namely biology, biomedical, and nonhuman primate conservation. In accordance with these three pillars, the PRM PS teaching staff come from the faculties/departments of biology, forest resource conservation and ecotourism, veterinary medicine, animal husbandry and agriculture. The Primatology Doctoral Study Program can be carried out well thanks to the synergistic collaboration with the Primate Animal Study Center (PSSP) LPPM IPB, the Center for Biopharmaca Studies (PSB), several State and Private Universities in Indonesia (University of Indonesia, Udayana University, Pajajaran University, Gajah University Mada, Sam Ratulangi University, Muhammadiyah University Jakarta), Association of Indonesian Primate Experts and Observers and several foreign educational and research institutions (Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Washington National Primate Research Center, University of Washington).
To become a leading and quality research-based Primatology postgraduate education program with key competencies in the fields of biology, biomedicine and primate conservation.
MissionStrengthen the scientific foundation, quality and academic authority and synergize primatology postgraduate education with advanced and in-depth cross-scientific research activities in the context of developing human resources and science and technology, preserving and utilizing nonhuman primates for human welfare, and finding solutions to national problems.
