Study Program Doctorate
The Doctoral Program in Animal Biomedical Sciences is a research-based program offered by the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, IPB University. The program focuses on advancing science and technology in animal biomedical sciences, particularly in tropical animal health and the One Health framework. Since its establishment in 2007, the program has continuously strengthened its academic quality and has been awarded the highest accreditation status, “Unggul” (Excellent), by the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Pendidikan Tinggi Kesehatan (LAM-PTKes), reflecting excellence in academic standards, governance, research performance, and graduate outcomes.
The program aims to produce doctoral graduates who demonstrate academic excellence, research independence, scientific integrity, and global competitiveness. The academic process includes research-based coursework, comprehensive examinations, original and innovative dissertation research, and publication in reputable international journals. The curriculum is designed to enhance advanced analytical skills, scientific synthesis, and academic leadership in animal biomedical sciences.
The program is supported by distinguished faculty members, including full professors with national and international recognition, integrated research laboratories, and a modern Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Strong national and international collaborations further enhance research productivity and global engagement. Graduates are prepared to become leading academics, researchers, innovators, and policy advisors who contribute to sustainable development by strengthening animal health systems and promoting the integrated health of humans, animals, and the environment.
