The Doctoral Program in Biochemistry is managed under the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Institut Pertanian Bogor. The Department of Biochemistry was established based on the Rector’s Decree of IPB No. 001/K13/PP/2005 concerning the restructuring of departments within IPB, with the main mandate to develop basic sciences, concepts, and methodologies in the field of biochemistry. Currently, the Department of Biochemistry offers the Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Program in Biochemistry, the Master’s Program in Biochemistry, and the Doctoral Program in Biochemistry.

To become a provider of biochemistry education and research with internationally standardized process and outcome quality, and to serve as a reference for the advancement of biochemistry and its applications.

The Doctoral (PhD) Program in Biochemistry is mandated to advance science and technology in the field of biochemistry in depth, particularly in the areas of metabolism, biomolecules, and bioanalysis, with an emphasis on their applications in providing solutions to challenges in sustainable agriculture, health, bioenergy, bioindustry, and the environment.
