Study Program Doctorate

Marine Fisheries and Technology (TPL) Study Program is a postgraduate program within the Department of Fisheries Resource Utilization (PSP), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Bogor Agricultural University.

According to Rector's Decree No. 126/I3/OT/2008, the Department of Fisheries Resource Utilization's scientific mandate is the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable capture fisheries science and technology, encompassing: fishing gear, fishery resource exploitation technology, fishing vessels and transportation, capture fisheries policy, capture fisheries management, and fishing port management.

The TPL Study Program was established with the establishment of the Marine Technology (TKL) Study Program in 1999 (Rector's Decree No. 142/K13.12.1/PP/1999). Then, in 2007, the Marine Fisheries Technology (TKL) study program was split into two majors: Capture Fisheries Technology (TPT) and Capture Fisheries Systems and Modeling (SPT) (Rector's Decree No. 027/K13/PP/2007). In 2011, the two majors were merged again under the name Marine Fisheries Technology (Rector's Decree No. 109/I3.PP/2011), which subsequently became the Marine Fisheries Technology study program, which it remains today.

Marine Fisheries and Technology study program offers doctoral education (Rector's Decree 235/IT3/DT/2012). The Doctoral Program at PS TPL has been Accredited and received an A rating/grade based on BAN PT Decree Number: 018/BAN-PT/Ak-X/S3/XI/2011 with a validity period of November 18, 2011 to November 18, 2016. Re-Accreditation through BAN-PT Decree Number: 2203/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/D/X/2016 and received an A rating/grade with a validity period of October 6, 2016 to October 6, 2021. Re-Accreditation again through BAN-PT Decree Number: 12443/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/D/I/2022 and received an A rating/grade with a validity period of October 7, 2021 to October 7, 2026. Then in 2024 the Doctoral Program converted to an Excellent rating as evidenced by the existence of a BAN-PT certificate No. 6707/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/D/XI/2024 which is valid from 12 - November - 2024 to 7 - October - 2026.

Vision

Make an institution that develops fishing science and technology (Fishing Science and Fishing Technology) and art in planning, implementing management and utilization of Indonesia's fishery biological resources.

Mission

1. Producing graduates who are skilled, agile, and adaptable in utilizing fishery resources through a quality educational process;

2. Developing the latest science, technology, and arts (IPTEKS) in the field of capture fisheries through continuous research; and

3. Actively participating in all activities that benefit the development of Indonesian fisheries, particularly in the capture fisheries sector, through community service activities.
