Study Program Doctorate


The Doctoral Program in Statistics and Data Science at IPB University is designed to produce scholars and innovators capable of leading the advancement of statistical theory and data science methodologies. In line with current global developments, statistics and data science are no longer auxiliary disciplines but serve as core components in data-driven decision making, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and technological innovation across sectors.

This program provides a rigorous academic environment to develop advanced theoretical understanding, high-level methodological competence, and cutting-edge computational expertise. Graduates are expected to demonstrate strong capabilities in developing new statistical methods, designing innovative data science approaches, and applying them ethically and responsibly in multidisciplinary contexts.

The curriculum is structured based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles and aligned
with:
• The Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (IQF) – Level 9,
• International benchmarks, such as the Curriculum Guidelines for Data Science from the American Statistical Association (ASA),
• The Data Science Competency Framework by the European Data Science Academy (EDSA),
• And stakeholder input from academia, industry, and research institutions.

Key learning outcomes include:
• The ability to conduct original and publishable research in statistics and data science.
• The capacity to integrate theoretical knowledge and practical skills to solve real-world problems using data-driven approaches.

The program has achieved “UNGGUL” (Excellent) accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), reflecting its quality assurance, academic excellence, and national leadership in the field.
