Study Program Magistrate

The Primatology (PRM)  Masters Study Program was officially opened in 1995 to response concern on primatology among the researchers and observers at the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB). In 1999, the Organizational Structure of the PRM Study Program was established based on the Decree (SK) of the Chancellor of IPB Number 053/K13/HK/LL/1999 as a study program based on the IPB Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In 2001, based on IPB Chancellor's Decree No.130/K13.12.1/PP/2001, the PRM Study Program was determined as a multidisciplinary study program and was based in the Postgraduate School of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (SPs IPB). The vision, mission and objectives of the PRM Study Program refer to the vision, mission, goals and strategies of the IPB Study Program adapted to the development of primatology. In its academic activities, this study program carries three scientific pillars, namely biomedical, biology and primate conservation, so that the teaching staff for the PRM Study Program come from various faculties/departments that are relevant to the three main pillars. The Master of Primatology Study Program can be carried out well thanks to a synergistic collaboration with thePrimate Research Center of IPB, the Center for Biopharmaca Research Center (PSB), several State and Private Universities in Indonesia (University of Indonesia, Udayana University, Pajajaran University, Gajah University Mada, Sam Ratulangi University, Muhammadiyah University Jakarta), Association of Indonesian Primate Experts and Observers and several foreign educational and research institutions (Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Washington National Primate Research Center, University of Washington).

Vision

Becoming a leading and quality Primatology Postgraduate Education Program based on research and local excellence with key competencies in the fields of biomedicine, biology and nonhuman primate conservation.

Mission

Strengthen the scientific basis, quality and academic authority and synergize the Primatology Postgraduate Education with advanced and in-depth cross-scientific research activities to support efforts to develop human resources and science and technology, as well as the preservation and utilization of nonhuman primates for human welfare.
