Study Program Magistrate
Description: The Master of Landscape Architecture Study Program at the IPB University began with the opening of courses and specializations in landscape architecture at the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture in 1965, which was later developed into the Landscape Architecture Study Program in 1985/1986.
The Study Program which serves education at the Undergraduate level has changed to the Department of Landscape Architecture since 2005 based on the Decree of the Rector of IPB No. 001/k13/PP/2005. In line with the growing needs of the environment and the country's development, in 1999 the Strata-2(master) Landscape Architecture Program was opened based on the Decree of the Rector of IPB No. 065/k13/PP/2004 within the scope of the Graduate School of IPB.
This Study Program is supported by three divisions: Landscape Planning and Design, Landscape Management, and Plants and Planting Design. Professionalism in providing educational services for undergraduate and master programs has been recognized by obtaining certification from BAN-PT and ISO 9001:2015. The Master of Landscape Architecture Study Program received BAN-PT accreditation with decree No. 1873/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/VI/2017 with A accredited status.
In addition, the Landscape Architecture Department has also received an ISO 9001: 2015 certificate from Sucofindo Internasional Certification for the Management Requirement System category in 2017.
The purpose of implementing the Master of Landscape Architecture Study Program is to provide quality education that will produce graduates who have the ability to apply, research, and develop Landscape Architecture Science and Technology in the aspects of planning, design, and management, as well as landscape materials/elements for forming parks and landscapes; (2) develop basic knowledge, research, and its application related to gardening and landscape planning to improve the quality of life of the community; and (3) disseminating Landscape Architecture Science and Technology to the public to provide a better understanding of garden and landscape design to support sustainable development.
The existence of the Master of Landscape Architecture Study Program is not only recognized nationally but also internationally through various academic collaboration activities and the opening of international programs with several universities abroad through internship programs, credit transfers, double degrees, and student exchanges, as well as organizing national and International scale seminars and workshops.
The vision of the study program is integrated with the vision of the Department of Landscape Architecture, which is to become the leading provider of Master of Landscape Architecture education in Asia in 2021 in producing human resources and developing science and technology with main competencies based on tropical landscape resources to support sustainable development
