Study Program Magistrate


The Master's Program (S2) in Forest Management Science (IPH) at IPB University is a postgraduate program in the Faculty of Forestry and Environment, managed by the Department of Forest Management, within the Applied Science cluster (Forestry–Environment) with a graduate degree of M.Si. This program is designed to strengthen scientific and professional capacity in adaptive forest management—integrating ecological, social, and spatial dimensions—as well as promote data-driven decision-making practices through data-based forest governance, digital technology, and digital & AI integration. The study load of the program is 55–59 credits, and its national accreditation status is recorded as Excellent (BAN-PT) for 2023–2028.

Mission

Carrying out higher academic education to produce human resources who are moral, competent, and able to compete at national, regional, and international levels. Conducting research that supports the educational process and the development of science, technology, and arts in the field of forest management that is adaptive to societal needs to support sustainable forest management. Performing community service that contributes to enhancing graduates' capabilities and solving various problems in forestry development and ecosystem-based forest management.

Producing master's graduates who are capable of developing science and technology for adaptive forest management to address social–ecological dynamics, climate change, and sustainability demands. Strengthening forest planning and management capacity through the integration of ecology, social aspects, and spatial considerations, as well as interdisciplinary approaches in forestry planning. Encouraging innovative, participatory, and sustainable solutions in forest management and responsible forestry business development. Developing competencies in spatial analysis, dynamic modeling, and sustainable forest management planning as a basis for decision-making. Strengthening forest governance capacity through data-based approaches and the application of digital technology and AI in forestry management and policy. (Specifically for the Social Forestry specialization) Preparing graduates who are capable of becoming empowerment facilitators and social-ecological analysts/policy developers for inclusive participatory social forestry development.
