Study Program Magistrate
The Food Science Masters Program is designed to provide human resources with superior competence in developing science and technology in the food sector. Food science is defined as the science that applies biological, chemical, physical and engineering principles to convert raw agricultural products into processed foods suitable for human consumption; studying the characteristics of food ingredients, the causes of food quality degradation, and the principles underlying a food processing, as well as improving the quality and safety of food for public consumption.
To become an internationally recognized graduates study program and trendsetter in the development of science and technology and highly competent human resources in the food science based on tropical agriculture
Mission"1. Developing a high qualitiy Magister Education Program in Food Science efficiently and effectively; 2. Developing an independent, competent, and highly intelligent human resource who are competitive at the international level; 3. Developing science and technoloogy in the field of food science based on tropical condition aling with national and global development and disseminating research findings in the aforementioned field; 4. Developing and implementing innovations in food science and technology to support food industries to improve public health and welfare

Department scientific mandate (Chancellor's Decree Number 001/K13/PP/2005), that is "The development of food science and technology, including chemistry, microbiology, process engineering, analysis, quality and food safety”. Based on this mandate, the ITP Department manages a multilevel study program (PS). That is bachelor program (PS Food Technology), master program (PS Food Science and PS Food Technology), and doctoral program (PS Food Science). All of these study programs have been accredited "A" by BAN-PT. In particular, the Food Technology undergraduate program has received international approval from the Institute of Food Technologist (IFT) since 2010 and the International Union of Food Science and Technologists (IUFoST) since 2013.
