Study Program Magistrate
The Master of Marine Science program is one of the educational programs at the IPB University Graduate School in the Department of Marine Science and Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science as the home base for academic administration. This study program focuses on the development of research-based marine science to address the challenges of sustainable coastal and marine resource management at the national and global levels.
In its academic implementation, the Marine Science Study Program carries out educational activities through lectures, thesis research, academic guidance, and the development of marine science innovations supported by the Division of Hydrobiology and the Division of Oceanography, as well as multidisciplinary collaboration with various divisions and academic units within IPB University. This support enables the strengthening of student competencies in basic science, applied technology, and integrative approaches to marine ecosystem management.
The Master of Marine Science program is organized based on the decision of the Rector of IPB in accordance with applicable academic regulations and continues to be developed to meet international standards of higher education. In addition to involving IPB University's permanent lecturers, academic activities are also supported by professors and leading researchers from various national and international institutions, including government marine research institutions, technical ministries, conservation organizations, and non-governmental organizations engaged in marine and biodiversity issues.
Through a research-based education approach and strategic collaboration, the Marine Science Study Program plays a role in producing marine science and technology innovations that support ocean health, sustainable coastal resource management, and blue economy development in order to strengthen Indonesia's maritime independence.
To become an internationally renowned research-based master's program in marine science and technology development that supports ocean health, sustainable blue economy development, and maritime independence through techno-socio entrepreneurial innovation.
Mission1. To provide excellent, adaptive, and innovative research-based master's education in marine science and technology to produce professional graduates with integrity, global competitiveness, and maritime leadership and entrepreneurship.
2. To develop multidisciplinary research and marine technology innovation based on the needs of maritime communities and global challenges, including marine health, climate change, environmental pollution, and sustainable coastal and marine resource management.
3. To carry out community service, commercialization of research results, and effective, transparent, and accountable study program management through national and international strategic collaboration to support sustainable maritime development.
