Study Program Magistrate

The Postharvest Technology Study Program (TPP), as part of IPB’s graduate education, is a pioneer master’s program in the field of Postharvest Technology in Indonesia and Asia. The TPP master’s program develops science and technology in the field of postharvest handling of agricultural products, including products derived from plantation crops, food crops, horticulture, as well as livestock and fisheries products, for both industrial purposes and direct consumer use.

Vision

To be part of IPB’s graduate education as a pioneer master’s program in postharvest technology in Indonesia and Asia, with the mission of developing science, technology, and arts in the field of postharvest to support an industry-based tropical agricultural system within the framework of the global economic era.

Mission

1. To conduct education, research, community service, innovation, and application of postharvest technology in the development of agribusiness and agroindustry in an economical, effective, efficient, and sustainable manner.
2. To carry out the study and dissemination of science and technology in the field of postharvest so that it can be appropriately utilized by the wider community.

The mandate of the Postharvest Technology Study Program at IPB University focuses on the development of science and technology in postharvest handling of agricultural commodities, including process engineering, supply chain management, reduction of postharvest losses, and enhancement of value addition and quality of agricultural, fisheries, marine, livestock, and forestry products.

Main Objective: To improve efficiency, economic value, safety, and quality of postharvest products through the application of advanced technologies.

Study Focus: Includes handling techniques, storage, processing, and efficient logistics management.

Application: Applies technology to maximize outputs from the agroindustrial sector and enhance the competitiveness of commodities.

This mandate is designed to address off-farm challenges in agribusiness and agroindustry, in line with IPB’s major–minor curriculum system, which emphasizes practical competencies.
