The Undergraduate Program of the Department of Plant Protection carries the mandate to produce agricultural graduates who are competent, ethical, and adaptive in developing and applying science and technology for sustainable plant health management. This program prepares human resources capable of detecting, analyzing, preventing, and controlling plant pests and diseases (organisms harmful to plants) in crop production systems, agricultural product storage, and residential environments, using scientific, environmentally friendly, data-driven approaches aligned with national and international policies.

This mandate is realized through education based on the bioecology of plant pests, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), modern plant protection technologies, biotechnology, risk analysis, and entrepreneurship. Graduates are thus equipped to serve as plant protection specialists, young researchers, consultants/extension agents, agribusiness/agrochemical field managers, and techno-sociopreneur entrepreneurs, contributing to national food security and self-sufficiency.
