Study Program Undergraduate

The Agronomy and Horticulture Study Program is an undergraduate program within the Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University, which provides high-quality and comprehensive academic education in the management of plant resources, as well as their development and dissemination, to support sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation. The Agronomy and Horticulture Study Program aims to produce graduates who: (1) possess an understanding of the concepts of plant characteristics and genetic diversity, as well as plant growth and development and their physiological responses to various growing environments; (2) have the knowledge and skills to manage sustainable crop production; and (3) demonstrate lifelong learning awareness, an entrepreneurial mindset, adherence to ethical and professional standards, communication skills, teamwork abilities, and the capacity for independent development.

Vision

To become a leading center for the implementation of academic activities and the development of science, technology, and innovation at the global/international level in the field of engineering genetic potential, physiology, and environmental aspects of plant resources to support sustainable tropical agriculture and to produce human resources with a techno-socio entrepreneurial character.

Mission

1. To provide high-quality and comprehensive academic education in the field of plant resource management.

2. To conduct research on the engineering of genetic potential, physiology, and environmental aspects of plant resources, as well as their development and dissemination, to support sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.

3. To carry out community service activities aimed at improving community welfare.

4. To establish and strengthen national and international cooperation.

The Agronomy and Horticulture Study Program is mandated to deliver excellent higher education in the management and engineering of plant resources through the advancement of science and technology in the fields of genetics, plant physiology, and plant–environment interactions in order to support sustainable tropical agricultural systems. The Study Program is also mandated to develop innovative research, carry out community service, and establish national and international collaborative networks to produce human resources with a techno-socio entrepreneurial character, strong ethical values, adaptability to the advancement of science and technology, and an orientation toward environmental sustainability.
