The development of sociology, anthropology, politics, communication, human ecology, education and outreach, and community development to promote community empowerment (agriculture, livestock, forestry, fisheries, and coastal areas).

Vision

To become a leading and internationally recognized department in (education) and the development of science, technology, and the arts in the field of community development communication, producing high-quality human resources and science, technology, and the arts for the development of tropical agricultural communities in particular.

Mission

1. Providing high-quality higher education (with knowledge, skills, and attitudes) that is dynamic in accordance with the changing times and applicable regulations/Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI); 2. Developing cutting-edge research in the fields of communication and extension sciences, demography, agrarian and human ecology, as well as sociology, anthropology, social psychology, and community development (theoretical concepts specific to the fields of extension, development communication, political ecology, and rural sociology) that are beneficial to stakeholders; 3. Encouraging and realizing community service through community development programs in collaboration with various parties; 4. Carrying out the mission of social, economic, and political empowerment of the community in a participatory manner in accordance with areas of expertise with dedication to the welfare of the Indonesian people; 5. Fostering partnership cooperation based on mutual benefit with various private, government, domestic, and foreign institutions in the field of Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education); 6. Realizing a sovereign, communicative, adaptive to the environment, and highly self-reliant society that respects various differences in views, ethnicity, race, religion, and gender in developing agriculture and rural areas; and 7. Realizing a development paradigm that benefits stakeholders towards a civil society and ensures the achievement of justice and sustainability of natural resources and the environment."

Decree of the Rector of Bogor Agricultural University Number: 001/K13/PP/2005 Date: January 10, 2005 The mandate of the Department of Communication and Community Development (KPM) of the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) IPB is “The development of sociology, anthropology, politics, communication, human ecology, education, extension, and community development to encourage community empowerment (agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry, fisheries, and coastal areas).” Based on the Decree of the Rector of Bogor Agricultural University Number: 001/K13/PP/2005 dated January 10, 2005, IPB mandates the implementation of multistrata education under the Department of Communication and Community Development (KPM) of the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) IPB.
