Study Program Undergraduate
The Department of Chemistry at FMIPA IPB manages the Undergraduate (S1) Chemistry Program, Master's (S2) Chemistry Program, and Doctoral (S3) Chemistry Program. The Undergraduate (S1) Chemistry Program was established in 1988, has received International Accreditation from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and has been accredited A by BAN PT for the periods 2003-2008, 2008-2013, 2013-2018, and 2018-2023. The Department of Chemistry at FMIPA IPB is ISO 9001:2015 certified as evidence of an internationally standardized quality management system. The Department of Chemistry at FMIPA IPB is supported by 35 experienced lecturers, 75.7% of whom hold a Doctoral degree, including 5 Professors, and 24.3% hold a Master's degree. The smooth running of teaching and learning activities is also supported by 22 educational staff members.
The lecture materials are designed based on the potential of chemistry in studying and developing new materials and natural products as prime objects, taking into account the tendency of the latest developments in chemical science in developed countries. Collaborations have been established with various government agencies (such as the Halmahera Regional Government, the Directorate of Vegetable and Biofarmaka Plants of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, LIPI, BATAN), LP-POM MUI, national private companies (such as PT Bintang Toedjoe, PT Charoen Phokphan, and PT SOHO), as well as professional associations (the Indonesian Chemical Society, the Indonesian Polymer Association, the National Working Group on Indonesian Medicinal Plants, and the Indonesian Natural Materials Chemistry Association).
To make the undergraduate and postgraduate chemistry programs prominent study programs in Indonesia in the development of human resources and science and technology, with the main competency being the application of chemical knowledge and playing a key role in agricultural development.
MissionIn line with the mission of IPB and FMIPA IPB, the mission of the Department of Chemistry has been formulated as follows: 1. To produce graduates with academic excellence (highly competitive, intellectually capable, socially aware) and character in the application of chemistry relevant to the needs of society now and in the future, particularly in the field of agriculture, 2. To organize academic activities and community service that can be accountable to stakeholders.
