Study Program Undergraduate
The Bioinformatics Study Program is an undergraduate program under the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), which began accepting students in 2024. This program has received a Good Accreditation Rating from LAM INFOKOM based on Decree No. 015/SK/LAM-INFOKOM/Ak.Min/S/II/2025. The Bioinformatics Study Program aims to equip experts with the ability to integrate computer science and molecular biology in the analysis of large-scale biological data.
Graduates of this study program are prepared to possess competencies in various professional fields, including as Bioinformatics Software and Database Developers, Researchers in Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics Practitioners, Biotechnology Practitioners, Junior Big Data Omics Analysts, Biomedical Practitioners, and Genomics-Based Plant Breeding Practitioners. This competency reflects the graduates' readiness to face challenges in the era of big data in the context of biology and health, both in software development, research, and the application of bioinformatics in the fields of agriculture, biomedicine, and biotechnology.
The department aims to excel in the advancement of bioinformatics science and technology, as well as the handling of large-scale tropical biology data, contributing to the nation's progress.
Mission1. To provide high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate education programs in bioinformatics, with excellent national and international recognition.
2. To conduct research in bioinformatics to generate scientific and potential innovations that support national progress.
3. To organize community service activities based on bioinformatics research that can impact and benefit society.
